WHAT WE DO

The Barnacle Buoys is a group of a cappella sea shanty singers based in North Somerset.  We exist to enjoy our craft, entertain our audiences and raise money for our chosen charities.  Our principle charities have been the Childrens Hospice South West and the RNLI.  These organisations rely upon donations in order to provide their invaluable services to those in real and often desperate need.

We give our time freely and in return have a great time; we hope our audiences do too!

For the last couple of years we have completed over 40 performances; this has been a significant contribution to the organisations we support.  So, if you might be considering a community, social,  corporate or charitable event which may need a bit of swagger and song, why not consider a shanty or two to help you and, in turn, help others at the same time?

Charities and events that have been supported by the Buoys have included:

  • Children’s Hospice South West
  • RNLI
  • Clevedon Pier
  • the Matthew
  • SS Great Britain
  • Clovelly Maritime Festival
  • Made in Somerset
